New images from 1985 European Grand Prix - 05/01/2012
I've just uploaded 16 new images from the 1985 European Grand Prix, which was held at Brands Hatch.
This race was notable for Nigel Mansell driving a Williams Honda FW10 to victory in what was the first GP win of his career.
Ayrton Senna was runner-up in a Lotus Renault 97T, with Keke Rosberg finishing third in the other Williams.
Among the drivers featured are Ferrari team mates Stefan Johannson and Michele Alboreto on the grid, Nelson Piquet in the pits with his Brabham BT54, and Senna and Elio de Angelis in their Lotus Renaults at Paddock Bend.
Seeing these pictures provides yet another reminder of how brilliant it was to be able to get so close to the action, with Brands Hatch resembling a miniature version of Spa. Happy days!
