Wonderful machines at Prescott 1973 - 17/01/2012
I’ve just uploaded some previously unseen images taken at the 45th National Open meeting held at Prescott Hill Climb in May 1973.
The event was organised by the Bugatti Owners Club and Ferrari Owners Club, and featured a round of the RAC British Hill Climb Championship.
There were some wonderful machines in action such as the BRM P153 of John MacCartney and David Good’s Lyncar Cosworth DFV, plus a host of 5 litre cars including David Hepworth’s FF4WD Chevrolet.
Mike MacDowell was driving his 5 litre Brabham BT36 Repco and went on to win the championship later that year.
There was a huge entry list for the meeting with everything from Cooper 500s to F1 cars all listed in the programme which cost a whopping 10p.
