Carlos Reutemann at Silverstone - 29/03/2012

I've just uploaded some new images from the 1981 British Grand Prix, which was held at Silverstone.

I particularly like this portrait of Carlos Reutemann, who I photographed in the pits during practice.

Reutemann drove his Williams to second place in the race, and went on to become runner-up in that year's world championship.

While walking around Silverstone I also came across Gilles Villeneuve and Mario Andretti strolling down the pit lane together.

Villeneuve spun his Ferrari in the race and retired after completing only a handful of laps. Sadly, this was to be his his last appearance in a British GP before his untimely death at Zolder in 1982.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Villeneuve's fatal crash during final qualifying for the Belgian GP.
