Action at Loton Park Hill Climb - 14/08/2012
I enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon at Loton Park Hill Climb over the weekend when Hagley and District Light Car Club hosted the National B Championships.
Hill climbs are always very friendly events and a far cry from the brash, commercial world of Formula One racing.
Despite this the action is every bit as enjoyable as anything you see at the big circuits, with the added bonus of being able to get really close to the cars and drivers.
Loton Park is set in the beautiful surroundings of a deer park near Shrewsbury in Shropshire, and is rated by competitors as one of the country's most demanding hills.
The first time I took photographs at this venue was in 1964 when I saw Peter Westbury driving the 4WD Ferguson P99 and Ray Fielding in a BRM - as well as my then dentist driving a Lotus Elite!
