Sir John Whitmore drove his Alan Mann Ford Falcon Sprint to victory in the saloon car race that supported the International Trophy at Silverstone in 1966. Gawaine Baillie was runner-up in a Ford Falcon Sprint, followed by Lotus Cortina team mates Peter Arundell and Jacky Ickx. The race was a round of the British Touring Car Championship which was won later that year by John Fitzpatrick in a Broadspeed Ford Anglia
