Graham Hill drove his John Coombs Jaguar 3.8 to victory in a touring car race which supported the 1962 Formula One Gold Cup at Oulton Park. Alan Hutcheson had a spectacular crash on the last lap when he went off at Knickerbrook, with his Barwell Motors Riley 1.5 ending up half submerged in a lake on the outside of the bend. The driver was unhurt and managed to jump to dry land from the roof of the car
